I
wanted to break the mold a little. I wanted to try
to do comedy, something
different, something that lets some of the comedian
in me come out too."
While
it is her film and stage career for which Seymour
is recognized, her unending creativity inspires
other passions. About 14 years ago, she began dabbling
in the arts as a healing process during a difficult
period in her life. Dabbling turned to proficiency,
and today she paints beautiful watercolor and oil
landscapes and flowers. She is quick to praise her
husband, noting that he tends to the yard, making
sure that she is always surrounded by exotic flowers.
Rose bushes grow alongside exquisite blends of multi-colored
blossoms, a coral tree marks her entrance way, and
koi ponds surrounded by cattails and flowering trees
make for idyllic beauty. Keach even had their entire
cliffside (from house to ocean) landscaped with
flowers, benches, hammocks and citrus trees. |

At
one end of their home, ideally situated with French doors
that open onto the gardens and ponds, is Seymour's art studio.
Awash in sun-filled brilliance with multiple windows and
skylights, it is the perfect place to paint. Says Seymour,
-I am so busy that I have to schedule time to paint. But
when O do, I come here and paint for 10 or 12 hours at a
time."
Seymour's
art can be found in select galleries across the country.
She has been commissioned by a host of art collectors to
do special pieces, and has sold paintings for as much as
$40,000. Seymour has also donated her artwork to children's
charities. She was recently commissioned to paint several
works that will serve as note cards to support WomenHeart:
The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease. While
Seymour has had many gallery exhibitions across the country,
she was also recently honored with her first museum show
at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.
