Watch out Bruce and Bon Jovi, here comes Chad Allen!

Chad Allen first started playing "David Witherspoon" on Our House he was a little nervous. He had been acting in recurring roles on Webster and St. Elsewhere, but now he had his own series. A show in which he would be one of the main characters focused on every week. Now after two seasons on the air, Chad feels pretty comfortable with his character and schedule, but as anyone in show biz knows, there are always unexpected twists that arise to get that sense of nervousness and excitement going again. For Chad , it was the decision that "David" would make his singing and guitar-playing debut!

"He had never sung a day in his life," explains Chad 's mom, Faith. But when faced with the challenge of doing something new, this determined blond took on the project and gave it all he had.

From the first moment that Chad heard about the possibility of singing and playing the guitar on TV, he spent most of his free time working on his voice and learning how to position his fingers on a guitar's frets. If you saw the episode where Chad sang "Twist and Shout", you'll know that all his practice paid off. "We're really proud of him, " Faith says of her son. " Chad 's dad and myself and his brother and sister all got to gether to watch and couldn't believe how really good it was!" Not only did Chad 's family think he was fantastic, but the cast and crew of Our House were so impressed that they immediately had another episode set up in which "David" sang another classic rock tune, "Mony Mony." Once again, this 15-year-old apeared to have a natural instinct to perform as a musician.

Although Chad enjoyed the musical episodes and hopes to do more singing on the show, he assures us that he isn't going to give up acting. Of course, he may consider getting his own band together someday, but for now he'll live out his rock'n' roll dreams through "David."
