Actress, wife, mother, and accomplished artist.
Actress Jane Seymour does it all. She finds sanctuary in her studio.
"It's almost like a meditation
for me.
It's something that takes me away
from all the distractions of life.
It's my stress relief."
"I really like color. I suppose that's why I do a
lot of flowers because that's where you find the most vibrant color."
Jane works with different
textures…oils and watercolors…
"This is where I've done a wet on wet --
a traditional watercolor, but then I've come in afterwards and used a pen
and ink on top of it."
Her children are her favorite models…
"This is one of my favorites.
It's called 'Twins Looking For Bugs.'"
"I also recently enjoyed doing self-portraits, and
I thought it would be a fun thing for the fans."
She's exploring new media…
"I've started painting on silk. I also did T-shirts,
and that's a fun way of wearing art. It's one thing to have a painting
on the wall; it's another thing to wear the art with a pair of
blue jeans."
"Pretty much all my art has been sold for charity.
This was the Discover Card painting, and the
original was sold at the Guggenheim for the Make A Wish
Foundation ."
"I was asked to design a bottle for Korbel
Champagne , and I have now heard that it's a collectors
item. I was absolutely stunned and I realized how much good you
can do with art - with something that has given me pleasure just
to make."
