On June 25th, Queen Mary 2 sets sail from Southampton, England to New York
City with some very special cargo - the new Electrolux ICON™ collection
of premium kitchen appliances. Electrolux appliances have been used in
European homes and restaurants for more than 70 years and we’re excited
about our Atlantic crossing to make everyone aware of their reputation
and European heritage and to celebrate their availability in North America. The week-long journey will include a myriad of events designed to introduce Electrolux ICON™. Our official escort on the ship is Jane Seymour - actor, interior designer and home entertainer. While on board, Jane will conduct satellite interviews with television and radio stations across the U.S., talking to viewers about the transatlantic voyage and the exciting new Electrolux ICON™ line. Electrolux ICON™ is also participating in Gourmet Magazine’s "Chefs at Sea Program" with celebrated Chef Laurent Gras from San Francisco’s Fifth Floor restaurant. Gras will be conducting on-board cooking demonstrations on Electrolux ICON™ appliances. The Transatlantic Crossing of Electrolux ICON™ on Queen Mary 2
will be covered by national media outlets - including Country Living,
Dwell, Esquire, the TV Entertainment show, Extra!, Good Housekeeping,
House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Robb Report and Traditional Home
- so look for more on Electrolux ICON™ in the coming weeks. On July 2nd, Jane Seymour "models" the newest European collection
on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Fresh from her six day passage aboard QM2,
where Jane played escort to our new line of premium European designed
appliances, she's hosting a fashion kitchen party at Grand Army/Pulitizer
Plaza (59th Street and Fifth Avenue) for hundreds of design-conscious
New Yorkers. In addition to showing off the latest in kitchen "wear," Jane
will talk about the latest looks for the heart of the home - a compelling
and timely story in a country where the kitchen is king. Grand Army/Pulitzer
Plaza will be transformed into a charming European piazza, complete with
cobblestone paving, gelato carts and dramatic ice sculptures, creating
a stunning backdrop for Electrolux ICON. |
