Wednesday February 11,1998

I arrived at the set at 7.30 AM. It was sprinkling, so it looked bad for the outdoor wedding. Jeff and Kitty showed up at about the same time. Most of the cast was out in the meadow rehearsing the wedding scenes. It was getting very muddy out there, and we were worried they would move the wedding inside.

Some of my friends who are school teachers all called in sick again.. There were a lot of fans that showed up today. Everyone wanted to see the wedding.

The crew came by and told us they were moving the filming inside the big barn. There would be no outdoor scenes today. Everyone was very disappointed, but that's the way it goes sometimes. It was raining pretty hard now and we all went and sat at the train station.

Joe came by and said, "Good morning folks." He was talking to Kitty, Jeff, and me; everyone else was already on his or her way to the train station. Jana and Jane drove by. We had our backs to them. Jane had Jana stop and she rolled down the window and called us over. Everyone exchanged their morning greetings. Jane said, "Thank you for the beautiful photos! They were lovely. They were wonderful." I had given Jane a birthday card yesterday with a couple of small photos of the boys playing with the brooms. At first I didn't know which one of us she was talking to, as there was about 15 of us standing there. Some had gone ahead to the train station.I said, " Are you talking to me?" She said, " Yes, for the pictures. They were wonderful." She said, "I have unofficial news. Someone I know had dinner last night with Les Moonves, and he said again not to worry about a seventh season. We will have our seventh season." We were all happy to hear this again today and Jane was all smiles. I asked her how her auction had gone last night She said it went really well and she had sold all of her paintings. She was very pleased and happy about that. We all thanked Jane for stopping and for telling us again about the seventh season. After Jane drove off a zillion fans showed up. Jane said more but, I can't remember all she said. It was very exciting -everyone talking to her at once and Jana was laughing.

We all sat up at the train station for a few hours, and just visited, since we couldn't see the filming going on inside of the wedding. We had a great time talking. There must have been 20 of us sitting around talking about DQ. I talked to a lot of the fans about the Star and handed out a few flyers. The lady from San Francisco, Linda, is some kind of reporter. She was trying to pump all the fans about Jane and Jane's home life. I warned the fans away from her so they just sidestepped all her answers. We pretty much closed ranks on her, so she went off to talk to some other fans and pump them. Later in the day we were all over at Grace's, after the sun came out and everyone was hanging out there, Linda starting pumping Jane's bestfriend's mother, Elizabeth. She was a background person on the show; Linda was quizzing her about Jane. She was going on and on about Jane at home and so forth. I got Jana and told her to come over here and listen to this woman. She came up and acted like she was talking to me. Jana listened and then she went and got Elizabeth and told her she was needed some place and she went off with her. The rest of the day everyone just stayed away from the reporter.

Back to the train station. Ozzie Smith came by. He took photos of all us of sitting alone waiting for the so-called train He used all of our cameras; it was very nice of him. We were all having a lot of fun. He came over to see what we were doing. Later I got him, Lesa, Lee, and Frank Collison to sign my yearbook for me.

Larry Sellers came by with his dog. I asked him what his dog's name is? He said, "Echo" -a neat name. Then Geoffrey Lower came by with his dog and I asked him if it was a Chow Chow? He said it was an Akita. I told him it looked like a Chow. and that I had a Chow Chow. It must be a dog day afternoon at the set HA!

We went to Grace's. Jane was going to be interviewed by Access Hollywood, and usually no fans are allowed near her when she is being interviewed. Well today, they wanted us there so we were allowed to stay. We were all very excited and we were able to watch and hear the whole interview. Jane told them right off about the fans write-in campaign with CBS. She told them CBS gets hundreds of letters, phone calls and e-mails a week from us. She said she thought we would get a seventh season and then she told them the fans were getting her a star on the Walk of Fame. She told them about Dr. Quinn then and about this episode being filmed- the finale. She said the show had many new stories to tell and that this was only the beginning.

Jane talked about her marriage, how she cries at weddings, and about her artwork. Then she told them about the auction last night, and how she sold all her paintings for charity for Korbel. She told them that DQ was shown in 98 countries, and number one in such countries as Poland, Russia and Germany and that the show was even more popular in Europe then America. Then she told them all about her books, This One and That One. It was a long interview, but we all knew it would get chopped up into a few minutes air time. Access Hollywood then wanted to talk with the fans a few minutes. The interviewer asked some of the fans questions, then he came down to our end. Jane was listening to every word.

Jeff said how much he enjoyed coming out to the set to watch filming and see Jane, that he and his family loved the show and watched it every Saturday night. Jane made some comments back and forth, but I can't remember it all. Then the interviewer asked Jane what she would like to say to the DQ fans. She said, "We love them, we thank them so much for their support and we will hopefully have more time together." She said so much more, but again so much was happening I can't remember it all. The interviewer came over to me and he asked me what I thought of Dr.Quinn and Jane? I said something about fans come here from all over the world to support this show and they come out to the set to watch the filming because they enjoy the series so much. I said, "And as for Jane, she gets a lot of fan loyalty because she came out here in 100 degree weather carrying twins, just so we can keep having our show uninterrupted. If she feels that strongly about the show, she deserves our support as much as possible. It's my favorite series of all time. So many fans said stuff about the show, a few were camera shy like the school teachers who had cut school again, and were afraid they would get caught on TV when they were supposed to be home sick!

Then Jane opened some presents that some fans had brought her for her birthday. Jane told the crew from Access Hollywood that this wasn't planned. One of the fans gave Jane a very nice picture frame, and Jane thanked her for it. Someone gave her a small photo album full of pictures, then Janine from South Africa, who was living here in the USA, gave Jane a handmade patchwork quilt. Each fan had made Jane a square from their state I think. Jane loved it and she and her sister Sally held it up for the TV crew to see. Then she posed with it and Janine for photos. Jane told the interviewer that she didn't know the fans were going to do this; the guy didn't care anyway! I said, " Sure Jane, we all know this was a set up." Everyone laughed and so did the Access Hollywood people. Access Hollywood was done with their interview and they packed up their things. They said goodbye to everyone and left.

Out in the meadow, they took publicity pix of Joe, Jane, Chad, Shawn, Jessica, Baby Calabrese and Brandon-Wolf too!
Again we couldn't see much and didn't get good pictures. I asked Shawn to sign my album; he is such a good kid. I videoed the triplets playing in Grace's with Lesa N. The sound on my camcorder was acting up lately, so who knows what I will get. I only taped them for a couple of minutes; they were waving to us and giggling.

Jessica Bowman came over and we got her to pose for photos in her wedding gown; she looked beautiful. 1 asked her if she would really like to get married. She said, " No, 1 never want to get married. I got tired of this dress five minutes after 1 got here." She laughed, and then she said she was embarrassed by all the attention she was getting today.

Joe drove by on his way out. He waved first, so we waved. Then Shawn and his mom drove out. We all waved at them and they waved back. It was getting late. We saw Brandon walking out to his car; he stopped to buy some Girl Scout cookies from Amanda's daughter.

The reception will be filmed tomorrow. I hope all goes well and it doesn't rain hard. I hope it is a better day for pix. All the regular fans are coming back tomorrow; the gang will return.. Lee asked me if I would take a photo of her with Jane. She had never had her pix taken with her before. I took two pix of them posing; there was a lot of equipment behind them. Frank told us he was turning 50 on the 14th. He is a Valentine's baby. We all wished him a happy birthday.

Jimmy George came over before we left and he told me he was going to retire after the filming of this episode was over. He told me to keep in touch. He thought he might move back to Mississippi and live in his mother's house. I told him I was very sorry to hear about his mom. He and I hugged each other really tight. I told him how much I was going to miss him. He said, "We sure had some good times out here didn't we? I said, " We sure did." I think we were both about to cry. Then Jeff shook his hand and told him goodbye too. I felt so sad as we walked out. Is this really the end of all the good times out here? So very sad. It just won't be the same without Jimmy running around showing us his pictures and joking with us. He always says, "Pam- There's Jane!" when he sees me arrive at the set

I met a lot of new fans at the set today, some really nice people. The crew wrotes some nice things in my yearbook too, not just the same old thing like nice to meet you. Some of the fans were getting their sketches signed by the cast, the ones Tony made. I didn't have mine signed - I wanted my yearbook signed more.
