A Second Career
Meanwhile Jane’s passion for art had flourished into a second full time career leading to her acceptance in the art world as a serious artist. In 2008, after a Kay Jeweler executive admired the necklace Jane had designed and worn during her time on Dancing with the Stars, Jane created “Open Hearts by Jane Seymour” an entire jewelry collection based on the open hearts theme which is now carried exclusively by Kay Jewelers. She even wrote a book entitled “Open Hearts” a compilation of quotes and anecdotes from famous and ordinary people on dealing with the concept of living with an open heart published in December of 2008, which was followed by an equally successful second book ,Among Angels , published in 2010. She is currently at work on a third book in the series which focuses on the concept of 'family' due out later this year. In 2011, she and her husband actor, producer James Keach, hosted the gala opening of their new Open Hearts Foundation, "an organization which provides funds to charitable organizations in the areas of Health, Arts, Education, Sports and honors individuals that exemplify the Open Heart Philosopy in their service to others. "

Today, Jane Seymour is a successful artist/author, public speaker and still sought after actress, who shows no signs of slowing down. She has 12-14 one woman art shows a year all over the country, is developing more pieces for her, Open Hearts by Jane Seymour jewelry line, continues to act (In 2008 she starred in the well received Hallmark film, Dear Prudence, as Prudence McCoy; a cross between Martha Stewart and Jessica Fletcher as well as a sequel to the film, Perfectly Prudence, in 2011; which reunited her with long time Dr Quinn costar Joe Lando. In May, she will star in Lake Effects, a heartwarming family film for the Hallmark movie Channel, and in 2013, audiences will be treated to more of Jane's talents when she sings and dances in the highly anticipated TV musical Elixer for the ABC Family channel.
She continues to be active in charitable causes, especially children’s organizations- such as City Hearts, Child Help, American Red Cross, and most recently became the official spokesperson for Camp Soaring Eagle, a camp based in Sedona, Arizona for children suffering from serious illnesses.
Jane Seymour is definitely living up to the promise she made in that hospital room when she asked God to let her live- she is treating her life as a precious gift and is determined to make every moment count.
