"HEART OF A STRANGER" Synopsis

For many years Jill Maddox (Jane Seymour) has relied on her daughter, Amanda (Maggie Lawson), to take care of her due to a failing heart. Amanda plays the role of the parent and, when not attending violin lessons and school, she takes care of the household, picks up Jill's medications and makes sure she takes them on schedule. But all this is about to change. '

A donor heart is finally available. Time is of the essence, but the hospital is unable to reach Jill as she has dozed off out of range from her pager. They quickly try Amanda, who is in the middle of her audition for the Music Conservatory of New England. Upon hearing the beeping emanating from her backpack, she apologizes to the judges and rushes home. Frantically, Amanda rouses her mother and they quickly prepare to leave. Much to Jill's chagrin, Amanda's reckless driver of a boyfriend Billy (Vincent Corrazza) arrives in his cab to whisk her off to the hospital.

Jill is immediately prepped for surgery and is wheeled down the hall on a gurney while Teresa Russo (Kai Soremekun), the transplant coordinator, briefs her on what to expect. More than 10 hours later Amanda is still at the hospital awaiting news of her mother. Keeping her company is Jill's best friend, Beth (Martha Irving), who is soon joined by Brian (Craig Elridge), a local restaurateur who is currently Jill's sole accounting client and harbors a crush for her. At long last Dr. Jaffe (Cedric Smith) appears and gives Amanda the good news - the surgery is over and her mother is doing fine. Jill begins her physical therapy a few days later and is well on her way to recovery, but all is not well. She is haunted by a dream about a speeding vehicle and is jarred awake by the sound of a thumping heart growing louder and louder.

Jill is released from the hospital one month later and arrives at home to find Brian, Beth and her husband Stan (Nigel Bennett), who have convened to welcome the patient in style. At first it seems like old times, but Jill's demand for a beer in place of her longtime favorite sparkling cider surprises them all. A few days later, the falling rain oddly triggers a feeling of apprehension in Jill. Before she knows it, she is revisited by the disturbing vision she first saw in her nightmare. This time, however, the scenario plays out a little further and leaves Jill feeling unsettled.

Soon, Jill starts doing more things herself and is back at work at Brian's restaurant before she knows it. However, her new lease on life and new attitude are starting to fluster Amanda. But she's not the only one puzzled by the new ,fill. Beth is
