As the fourth season of Smallville gathered speed, questions were already starting to be asked about Jason Teague, the mysterious stranger who had come into lana's life during her stay in Paris, and who had now followed her home to Smallville.

Fans were unsurprisingly excited to hear that another layer to the mystery would he added with the arrival on the show of Jason's mother, the enigmatic Genevieve, and even more exited by the announcement that she would be played by Jane Seymour best known for her role as Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, her appearance in the original Battlestar Galactica and as Solitaire opposite Roger Moore in his first appearance as James Bond in Live and let Die.

As the year went on, Genevieve has slowly but surely showed her hand, leading to her terminal appearance in the season's final episode,Commencement.

Shortly before she went up to Vancouver to film her confrontation with Lionel Luthor in Ageless back-to-back with her farewell scenes, she graciously spent some time talking about her stint on the series, and her other connections to the Superman legend, through her close friendship with her co-star in the 1980 movie Somewhere in Time, Christopher Reeve.

"I didn't know very much about Smallville," she admits freely. "Obviously my friend Christopher Reeve had done it, and I think that I saw the first episode that he'd done (Rosetta), but I didn't really know Smallville very well at all. I had to catch up very fast."
