Jane Seymour- New York Art Expo 2008

Another favorite offering of the day proved to be paper prints of The Conversation, a painting Jane had recently done of herself and Christopher Reeve from Somewhere in Time. The piece depicts Chris Reeve’s character, Richard, and Jane’s character, Elise, as they sit side by side relishing in just being together after finally eluding Elise’s manager. It’s done in beautiful shades of blue; which in the original painting hung on the wall, was enhanced by a weathered teal-green frame that suited it perfectly. Jane explained that she had done this for the Somewhere In Time Weekend at the Grand Hotel in Michigan but due to her appearance on Dancing with the Stars she had been unable to attend, She was instead therefore, offering it today at the art show for a special price of $50. Needless to say that stack of prints disappeared rather quickly! Unfortunately our time at the art show was also disappearing rather quickly. Pictures were taken now in rapid succession of each other, of Jane, Jane and us …There were hugs and even some tears; as at least for some who had come from other countries, there was no way of knowing if we would ever see each other again.

As a perfect end to our visit, we decided to pose in front of the Waltzing Canvas, the painting from Dancing with the Stars which Jane and Tony had created with their feet, proudly displayed in the lobby of the Javits. (The painting we learned was going to be auctioned off later for charity.) And finally, some last hugs, a few fleeting glances back at Jane and Susan and those remaining for a few more hours, and then it was over. Some were headed for the airport, some like myself to the local bus station, but we all knew we were leaving with a full heart , new friendships and wonderful memories- albeit also a few new acquisitions!
