After
this, fans lined up for photo sessions with various cast members
and amid much laughter and good natured jostling for position,
everyone who wanted a picture eventually got one. For several
attendees, this was their first meeting with any of the Dr. Quinn
cast members. Some approached shyly but all were greeted with
warmth and open arms and any awe at meeting a favorite cast member
soon gave way to a feeling of familiarity. For most, cast and
fans- it felt more like a family reunion. All too soon, dinner
was announced and everyone moved inside to continue their conversations.
Although the white lights strewn around the room were reminiscent
of the Tenth Anniversary dinner, this year's theme was a western
one. In lieu of flowers and more formal tablecloths, red lanterns
graced each table, along with a souvenir invitation cast photo
and a 'scroll' designed especially by A&E Television Network
commemorating the "DQ Times Twelfth Anniversary Reunion".Tables
were set up on both sides of the room separated in the middle by
a dance floor. On one wall hung a beautiful banner donated by a
DQTimes member welcoming all to the DQ Times Reunion dinner.

During
dinner, Pam Hughes (DQ Times founder/ editor)made a few special
announcements. Cast who were present were acknowledged and
fervently applauded and to the surprise of all, Kathryn
Ford led a round of applause for the fans themselves, in
which she was heartily joined by all the cast. Pam
then asked Jane Seymour and Beth Sullivan to draw the winning
raffle tickets for the Jane Seymour' victorian doll (from
Jane Seymour's home collection) and the Dr Quinn yearbook.
Helene Udy selected Lilian Vet, from Germany, as the lucky
winner of the A&E sponsored grand prize- a tote bag bearing
the A&E emblem complete with three full seasons of Dr.
Quinn DVDs, a Dr. Quinn and A&E tee shirt and a Dr. Quinn
mug.
Shortly afterward, Jane Seymour reluctantly took her leave and
Jen Youngs and her husband Ronnie Champagne took their places at
the podium to provide the evening's entertainment. One by one,
cast and guests, stepped out onto the dance floor to the delight
of the fans in attendance. Even Beth Sullivan, now fully recovered
from her injuries was coaxed onto the floor by Shawn Toovey!
The
evening was filled with music, conversation and picture taking.
Wherever one looked cast members or production members were
surrounded by groups of fans all eager to hear about their
latest projects or to take that once in a lifetime photo
with them. Many had come from other countries, one as far
away as Australia for this special night, none left disappointed.
The magic of Dr. Quinn had returned and with it that special
bond between it's actors and those so devoted to it.
